This weekend sees McAMS Yamaha and the British Superbike Championship head to Cadwell Park for the final round of the Main Season. The eighth round of the series kicks off across the upcoming Bank Holiday weekend, ahead of a significant points increase that marks the start of the 2026 Showdown at TT Circuit Assen on the third weekend of September.

The upcoming meeting delivers a valuable opportunity for the squad to bag some successful results, and also marks a commendable return to action for British Supersport rider Ben Currie following his heavy crash at Oulton Park last month.

Heading into their weekend in Lincolnshire, the team remain in high spirits after a fruitful outing at Thruxton two weeks ago, which saw them claim a pair of podium finishes, including a best result of second place to round out the weekend.

Brad Ray and the McAMS-backed squad have been building momentum over recent rounds, claiming podiums in five of the last six races across the Oulton Park and Thruxton meetings. Heading in the right direction, the team are keen to make the most of this weekend’s opportunity.

Ray has historically been competitive at Cadwell Park and heads into the weekend holding the all-time lap record at the 2.18-mile circuit – 1:25.329 – set during last year’s Omologato Superpole session, where he claimed pole position by 0.195 seconds.

Ray’s last visit to the circuit was a memorable one, with the then-Raceways Yamaha rider claiming victory by a narrow margin of just 0.087 seconds over championship rival Kyle Ryde. Despite strong pace throughout, misfortune struck in the final two races after a Race 2 crash from the lead disrupted his form for the remainder of Sunday.

With that added motivation, the #28 rider heads into the weekend with renewed determination, targeting a return to the front at one of his strongest venues on the 2026 calendar. The Yamaha R1 rider currently sits third in the championship standings, with the aim of retaining that position amid what looks set to be a competitive weekend of racing.

In the Quattro Group British Supersport Championship, Currie is set to return to track action following his crash at Oulton Park last month. The #61 rider returns to competition following absence at Thruxton, all the more determined to represent the team and pick up where he left off in the development process of the Yamaha R9. The Australian sees the upcoming weekend as his next step on the road back to full fitness.

Also in British Supersport, Harry Truelove heads into his home weekend with an encouraging feeling aboard the Yamaha R9. No stranger to the Cadwell Park venue, Lincolnshire’s Truelove has high hopes for the weekend, aiming to add to his 2026 podium tally. The #44 rider sits sixth in the standings with 163 points.

A weekend of progression is in store for both himself, Currie and the team, with the race-specification Yamaha R9 tackling the unique twists and turns of Cadwell Park for the first time across two races on Saturday and Sunday.

Ahead of that, the team’s weekend begins with a Friday evening test session for the R1 effort, aimed at getting ahead of the curve before Free Practice 1 on Saturday.
