McAMS Yamaha head to Brands Hatch this weekend for the fifth round of the 2026 British Superbike and British Supersport Championship. The Kent circuit carries added excitement for the team, who sit at the centre of Yamaha Motor UK’s celebrations marking the 30th anniversary of the national series, with Brad Ray set to appear on track in a special edition, heritage-inspired Yamaha R1 livery across all three races.
Ray, and the team’s Yamaha R9 Supersport line-up, are also set to appear on track aboard some iconic Yamaha machinery of the past, during an exclusive Yamaha Motor UK parade lap. The lap will feature an old gem of the acclaimed team – the 2021 McAMS Yamaha R1, ridden by Tarran Mackenzie to the championship crown.
As the national series roars back to action this weekend, Ray and the McAMS Yamaha team carry strong momentum from last time out at Snetterton, where they secured their first race victory of the 2026 campaign, capping off the weekend with a second podium finish of the year in third place.
Continuing to ride the wheels off the Yamaha R1 and spearhead Yamaha’s effort in the series, the championship hopeful has his eyes fixed on fighting at the front of the pack during the visit to his local venue – keen to make a further statement of intent as the championship nears its halfway point.
Ray, hopeful for another strong weekend of battle, enjoyed a fruitful outing at Brands Hatch last year, where he secured his first win at the Grand Prix venue during the series’ earlier visit to the track, also picking up multiple podium finishes at the season opener last October. Ray and the team remain confident in their prospects as Brands Hatch approaches, feeling up for the fight and ready to answer any challenges.
In the Quattro Group British Supersport Championship, Ben Currie and Harry Truelove are also well up for the fight again, following a mixed weekend at Snetterton two weeks ago.
Currie retained second place in the standings after the two races at Snetterton and sits 36 points shy of the top spot heading into the fifth round of the calendar. Ready to put the challenges of Snetterton behind him and focus on fine-tuning the all-new Yamaha R9 at a brand-new circuit, he and the team remain focused in their pursuit of additional strong results and ready to push on at the front of the pack.
Lincolnshire’s Truelove secured his second podium finish of the year at Snetterton last time out, adding fuel to the fire as his 2026 campaign progresses. With a comfortable feeling aboard the new package, the #44 side of the garage head into the weekend with eyes on the podium – ready to give it everything across the weekend’s two races.
