McAMS Yamaha head to Scotland this week for the third round of the 2026 British Superbike and British Supersport Championship, and after a break from competition, every corner of the garage is targeting a strong return.
Brad Ray arrives at Knockhill in confident spirits. The compact 1.2-mile circuit has long been a happy hunting ground for both the rider and the Yamaha R1, most recently when the 29-year-old swept to a double victory there last year – making a final addition to an impressive run of eight wins on the bounce.
With the shorter, technical layout helping to level the playing field after what has been a trying start to the season, the championship hopeful enters the weekend with his sights firmly set on the podium. Confidence in the team’s ability to deliver at one of the calendar’s most distinctive circuits is high.
Ray currently sits fourth in the standings heading into round three, his best results to date being three third-place finishes at Oulton Park earlier in the year. Back on familiar and favourable ground, the team are determined to use the weekend as a launchpad – targeting a charge into the top three of the championship table.
As the third round of the British Supersport Championship approaches, momentum continues to build on the Yamaha R9 side of the garage.
Ben Currie and Harry Truelove produced an outstanding display last time out at Donington Park – headlined by a team double podium in the opening race and a landmark maiden victory for the Yamaha R9 in Currie’s hands.
The Australian rider currently lies third in the championship standings heading into this weekend, having secured three podium finishes so far this season aboard the all-new package.
Currie heads into the weekend with his mind set on series progression, aiming to retain and improve his position amongst the leading three and showcase himself early on as a favourable title contender.
Truelove too heads into the weekend with a similar goal – a championship position of ninth doesn’t accurately reflect his form so far this year, nor his potential for what’s to come. After a couple of spells of bad luck, the Lincolnshire rider aims to bag a consistent set of strong results this weekend to help bolster his 2026 campaign efforts.
Since Donington, the R9 duo wasted no time in preparing for what lies ahead, taking in a full day of testing at Knockhill at the start of June to further develop the new package and prepare it ahead of time for one of the more unique circuits on the calendar.
With valuable track time already in the bank, both riders arrive this weekend ready to hit the ground running, and hungry to pick up exactly where they left off with two valuable point scoring opportunities lying in the pipeline across the weekend.
All corners of the garage are set to return to track this Friday (19th June) for their respective opening Free Practice sessions of the weekend – where the aim is to start strong and embark on the hunt for additional silverware and all-important championship points.
