McAMS Yamaha bagged a second win of the year and a triple podium finish in the sixth round of the 2026 British Superbike Championship, with Ray re-defining the limit aboard the Yamaha R1 to claim his second victory of the season and retain third in the championship standings.

The team wasted no time in asserting themselves towards the top of the order on Friday. Ray topped the Pre-Qualifying standings after two productive Free Practice sessions, laying down a benchmark 1:33.113 to head the field on day one and bag a spot in Saturday’s Qualifying 2 session.

Over in British Supersport, teammates Ben Currie and Harry Truelove both showed promising pace. Truelove slotted into eighth in the combined times, a result made all the more impressive given his flying laps were repeatedly disrupted by traffic.

Currie’s day, however, ended prematurely. A heavy crash at Old Hall Corner during Free Practice 2 brought out the red flags. The Australian was treated and stabilised trackside by the BSB medical team before being taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital for assessment. He remained conscious throughout, and scans later confirmed rib and lung injuries that required no further treatment.

Momentum stayed firmly with Ray as the team progressed into Saturday. He rounded out the final practice session fourth quickest and third overall on combined times, before turning up the wick in Qualifying 2. Trading blows with the weekend’s strongest prospects, Ray nailed a personal-best 1:32.826 around the Cheshire venue to lock out third on the grid for Race 1.

With Currie sidelined, Truelove flew solo for McAMS Yamaha in British Supersport qualifying and delivered his best lap of the weekend, a 1:37.222, to start Saturday’s Sprint Race from sixth.

Race 1 at Oulton Park delivered the headline moment. Ray was straight into the fight from lights out, running inside the top three from the off in a race run at an incredible pace. He forced his way to second, then pounced on race leader Max Cook on Lap 8 to briefly hit the front. The lead changed hands again as Storm Stacey took over and the pace at the sharp end settled, dragging a five-strong group – now including Kyle Ryde – into the remainder of the race.

Ray dipped as low as third before striking back, seizing the lead for good with a decisive move into Turn 1 at the start of Lap 12. He held firm under heavy pressure, and as his rivals behind traded position, the gap at the front stretched to over a second before the #28 rider took his second win of the 2026 season, also bagging pole position for Sunday’s Sprint Race with a 1:33.110.

In the Supersport Sprint Race, Truelove backed up his qualifying form with a determined ride from sixth on the grid, fighting throughout to cross the line in fifth.

Ray got Sunday off to a solid start, guiding the R1 to second overall in the morning Warm-Up session with a 1:33.543.

Lining up at the front of the grid for the 12-lap Sprint Race, Ray hit the ground running, immediately taking control of proceedings. The gap to Ray and Redding up front stretched to a second by half race distance, with Ray looking like a dominant force at the head of the field.

A safety car intervention bunched the field up until the end of Lap 9 – delivering a nerve-racking final three laps of the race.

It was Ryde who made the most of the narrowed order, passing Ray at Island Bend on the penultimate lap to decide the race. Unable to respond, Ray held firm over the closing lap to keep Redding at bay and secure a strong second-place finish.

It was a frustrating turn of events for Harry Truelove in the British Supersport Championship on Sunday, collected in a last-corner collision during Free Practice 3.

With repairs complete and going again from sixth in his final race of the weekend on the R9, Truelove was straight into action at lights out in the Feature Race – running fourth through the opening lap before working his way up to third to join the podium fight.

What followed was a tense battle for that final podium spot, with the Lincolnshire rider going wheel-to-wheel with Luke Stapleford before eventually settling for fourth.

As the gap ahead opened up, Truelove dug in and kept the chasing pack at arm’s length to secure the position at the flag – a solid way to close out the weekend, and one that sees him retain sixth in the standings as the series heads to Thruxton in a fortnight.

Ray rounded off his own strong weekend from the front row of the grid, seizing the holeshot to lead the field in the opening laps of the final 18-lap race of the round. Ryde found a way past to take the lead on Lap 5, with Redding following through shortly after to relegate the McAMS Yamaha rider to third.

Ray held firm from there, seeing out the remaining laps of an 18-lap contest to cross the line in third – a fitting end to a weekend that had already delivered on expectations. He and the team head to Thruxton in a fortnight with a retained third spot in the standings.
