McAMS Racing Hope for Snetterton Success

McAMS Racing Hope for Snetterton Success

This weekend is set to mark a return to on-track action for McAMS Racing and Danny Kent, with the Bennetts British Superbike Championship returning to Snetterton, for Round 5 of the season.

As a track that favours corner speed and intense braking, the Norwich-based venue has been home to an array of positive results for the Yamaha R1 package over the years.

Having secured multiple podium finishes so far this season, hope is high that the family-run outfit can continue from an exemplary start to their 2024 campaign.

With similar characteristics to the Grand Prix circuits that he’s used to, the 2.9-mile venue is one of the strongest tracks on the calendar for Kent, and one that has seen him secure some of the best results of his career in the premier class.

The man from Tetbury heads towards Round 5 of the championship off the back of a podium finish last time out at Knockhill.

Despite the challenging conditions, Kent surfed his way to a third-place finish in the final race of the weekend, again, cementing his presence as a true contender in the championship.

After a positive weekend last time out, Kent heads towards Snetterton as the top Yamaha rider in the championship. With 125 points to his name, he’s sat third in the overall standings and less than 20 points from the top spot.

With the series hotting up, the upcoming tiple header provides another host of opportunities to progress through the championship standings.

As Snetterton approaches, Kent and the team continue the pursuit of fighting for their debut victory in the premier class, with championship points remaining the highest priority.

“It’s Snetterton race week, and I can’t wait to get back aboard the McAMS Racing Yamaha R1. Snetterton is a circuit that historically, the Yamaha R1 has done very well at. It’s also a circuit that I enjoy a lot and one that I’ve been fast at. I have high expectations leading up to the weekend. The goal as always is to retain our position in the championship and reduce the point gap to the riders ahead. The last time out at Knockhill was positive. It feels nice to have ended the weekend with a podium finish. Hopefully, we can carry that momentum forwards and into the next round of the championship. Let’s get to work!”

Tim Martin

“Snetterton is a track that Yamaha has done well at in the past. We feel hopeful that Danny will perform well at the weekend, knowing that he’s had some strong results there in the past. Hopefully, Snetterton is a track that we can make progress at. Danny is well-rested after having a couple of weekends off, and we as a team feel ready to attack the weekend. We’re expecting a big crowd of guests from our friends at McAMS, so hopefully we can give them something to cheer about. After the monsoon that we experienced at Knockhill, hopefully, we’re gifted a nice dry weekend.

“We’re also delighted to be heading into the rest of the season with an amplified level of support from our friends at Ascott Insurance Brokers. We’re incredibly grateful for their added level of support for the remainder of the season and feel more hungry than ever to deliver results.”
