“I’m ready to get back to work with the guys at McAMS Yamaha this weekend. It feels strange to say we’re going back to Oulton Park already, it feels like only 5 minutes since we were there for the first round of the season! Since then, we’ve experienced a few hurdles which have stood in the way of the results we need, but the speed has been there, and we know what areas we need to refine. Last time out at Brands Hatch was a tough weekend results-wise. We’re more determined than ever to bounce back with a statement and show that we’re not out of the fight just yet. Our strength has been demonstrated in parts throughout the season so far, more specifically at Snetterton where we were able to get our first win of 2026 aboard the R1, set a new lap record, and cause some trouble at the front. There’s no doubt in my mind that we’re able to get back to fighting at the front at Oulton Park. I enjoy the circuit and have always felt fast there. This weekend, we’ll work in the areas needed to translate our speed into the results we’re capable of.”

I’m looking forward to getting back to a circuit that we’ve already ridden at – the Yamaha R9 went really well there at the start of the year, and with a strong set-up found, I’m confident that from here, the only way is forward. Last time out at Brands Hatch was an encouraging weekend for myself and the team at McAMS Yamaha – my confidence with the R9 continued to build, and I’m in a place where I feel like we can go to any circuit and be competitive at the front. “We’re heading into Oulton Park with a really good feeling following on from a strong few days at Brands Hatch. My feeling with the R9 is improving every weekend, and as we head back to Oulton Park – a circuit we have already ridden at – my expectations are high. I believe that we have the speed to fight at the front, challenge for podiums and wins, and fly the flag high for the team. There’s still work to be done before we go racing, so I’m ready to make the most of Friday and aim to build on the feeling we found at the start of the year.”
